Financial Aid

A college education is an important investment. At Warner, we want to make tuition costs manageable with the help of financial aid.

There are three main steps involved in completing your Financial Aid process.

  • Step One: Complete your
  • Step Two: Complete the Financial Aid process
  • Step Three: Complete your payment arrangements
Step One: Complete Your FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to determine eligibility for federal, state and Warner aid. 

Completing the FAFSA:

  • Both student and parent will be required to create an FSA ID.
  • In order to complete the FAFSA, you will need to have access to your 2018 tax information. The easiest way to do this is by using the Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) within the FAFSA.

Step Two: Complete the Financial Aid Process

Complete Verification

Many students are selected for verification.  It is a process used by the government to confirm that the data reported on the FAFSA is accurate. 

Students are selected for verification for multiple reasons.  Do not worry!  The steps to complete this are usually very easy and we will guide you through this process.  The Financial Aid office will send all required documents to be completed and returned.  They can also be accessed here:

If you were not able to use the Data Retrieval Tool to transfer your income information directly to the FAFSA, you will need to provide either:

 

  1. 2018 tax return transcripts or non-filing statement (contact or call 800-908-9946), or
  2. Signed 2018 tax return (Form 1040)

Signed Award Letter (provided by the Financial Aid Office)

Complete Required Loan Process

 

For students and/or parents accepting loans, please complete the following items:

Step Three: Complete Your Payment Arrangements

All students are expected to make payment in full for their semester bill by the first day of class or set up a payment plan.

Payment plans generally extend 6 months:

  • Fall: July – December
  • Spring:  January – June

Grants

Grants are a form of gift aid and do not need to be repaid.  Most grants are based on your level of financial need determined by the results of your

 

FEDERAL GRANTS

 

Federal Pell Grant

Eligibility: Undergraduate, based on financial need

Deadline: None

Application

Renewable: Annually

Funding: Federal grant; prorated by enrollment status 

 

Federal Supplementary Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

Eligibility: Full-time traditional undergraduate, seeking first degree, with a minimum GPA of 2.0

Deadline: Based on availability of funds

Renewable: Annually 

Funding: Federal grant; prorated by enrollment status

 

Federal TEACH Grant

Eligibility: Full-time traditional undergraduate with Junior or Senior status in an approved Education program, with a minimum GPA of 3.25. 

Deadline: None

Application

Renewable: By semester

 

STATE GRANTS

 

 

 

Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate, seeking first degree, with a minimum GPA of 2.0, Florida resident

Deadline: Prior to start of semester

Application:

Renewable: Yes, up to 9 semesters

Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG)

Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate, seeking first degree, with a minimum GPA of 2.0, EFC below 6,080, Florida resident

Deadline: Based on availability of funds

Application: 

Renewable: Yes, yearly according to need and availability of funds

 

Scholarships

A scholarship is a monetary gift that celebrates an academic achievement, special talent, or act of service.  Scholarships do not need to be repaid. 

Warner Scholarships

100% of all traditional undergraduate (full-time) students receive a Warner scholarship!  Please contact Admissions for more details. 

Outside Scholarships

   

     

PixelPlex

(High School Seniors and College Students)

  (A collaborative performance-based scholarship program for African-American, Hispanic American, Asian-American and Native American Students.  The participants in the program include Florida’s Florida College System institutions and its public and private universities that have state-approved teacher education programs.)

 

Loans and Work Study

Loans

Many students take out loans to help fund a portion of their educational expenses.  Loans must be repaid, so plan your finances carefully and borrow only what you think you can afford to repay.

 

Work Study

Federal and state work study funds provide aid in exchange for work for eligible students, in the form of campus-based employment.
