Residence Director

We are seeking to hire Resident Directors for the pk彩票app-21 academic year. Successful candidates will be energized by the opportunity to play a role in the Spiritual formation of our students while at the same time gaining professional experience managing and overseeing a residence hall. This job would also be a great starting place for those seeking a career as a Student Life professional within higher education. Resident Directors are required to live in their assigned Residence Hall. Warner University offers a generous benefits package including health, dental, retirement and tuition waivers.

 

Position Summary: The Residence Director serves as the management and oversight point person for their assigned hall or halls and its corresponding exterior zone. RD’s are responsible to create a positive, safe and healthy environment for student living by creating programming initiatives with their staff of Resident Assistants.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • RD’s are required to live on campus and live in their assigned residence hall.
  • Residence Directors are expected to maintain professional relationships and boundaries with all student staff members and residents within their assigned hall; enforce residence and college regulations and submit all necessary incident reports. RD’s will be expected to assist in safety/security efforts. RD’s will serve as first level responders to campus emergency responses.
  • RD’s are expected to be available for their residents throughout the weekday and weekends and build meaningful relationships while maintaining confidentiality; RD’s oversee and monitor the Resident Assistants in maintaining hall maintenance and assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs for their residents and for the larger Warner Community.
  • RD’s will complete a designated number of hours per week related to hall oversight, Office of Student Life presence, and resident interaction. Be visible in halls and campus-wide functions.
  • RD’s are expected to assist in the retention of residents on campus. Implement in-service programs, staff training and development programs for Resident Assistants and students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Supportive of Warner’s mission, vision and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle, and demonstration of character in keeping with biblical models.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field; Master’s work in student development, mental health or Christian ministry is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work and interact within a diverse environment with demonstrated leadership and management skills are required; ability to lead students in the coordination and implementation of regular activities designed to engage the spectrum of students enrolled in the institution

 

    Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach

    Position Summary:  This position functions as part of the Athletics Department and assists the Head Women’s Soccer coach in oversight of the team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assisting in planning, preparing and implementing successful structures for players to grow on and off the field.
    • Aid and run training sessions.
    • Assist in coaching in matches and coaching reserve matches.
    • Monitor academic success of individual players.
    • Build relationships with recruits, families, and coaches to aid in recruiting.
    • Recruit athletes with NAIA and University standards.
    • Work in conjunction with staff including: Athletic Trainers, Strength Coach, Managers, other Coaches.
    • Provide effective communication to the head coach.
    • Serve as an effective role model for the players.
    • Effectively communicate your ‘life story’ and faith walk with athletes.
    • Ensure safety and well-being of the student athletes.
    • Any other responsibilities designated by the Head Coach or Athletic Director

     

    Qualifications:

    • Supportive of Warner’s mission, vision and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle, and demonstration of character in keeping with biblical models.
    • Earned a Bachelor’s degree
    • Previous coaching experience at the club or college level.
    • Working knowledge of the game with a demonstrated ability to recruit, train and develop athletes within a system of play.
    • Demonstrated commitment to athletics as a venue for the development of the whole person.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively in a team setting, and a commitment to sports ministry.

     

    Working Relationships:  The Head Coach for Women’s Soccer is a member of the Athletics Department and reports to the Athletic Director.

     

    Financial Aid Coordinator

    Position Summary:This position functions as part of the Financial Aid Department and is responsible for financial aid packaging and billing, as well as providing guidance to students and parents in student financing issues.

    Responsibilities:

    • Team member in providing excellent customer service and process efficiencies.
    • Oversee all aspects of financial aid for new and returning students, including:
    • Determination of eligibility and awarding various types of federal, state and institutional funds in compliance with federal and state regulations, university discount rate targets, and audit requirements.
    • Advise students and parents in relation to payment plan options.
    • Provide customer service as it relates to processing and packaging issues, including answering routine questions, responding to correspondence, and counseling students as needed.
    • Assist with University orientation events and Royal Days activities, including financial aid presentations, as requested.
    • Work closely with other university departments to assist efforts toward recruitment and retention processes.
    • Other duties as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
    • Meticulous attention to detail, organized, with the ability to multi-task.
    • High level of interpersonal skills to handle confidential situations and documentation.
    • Experience in financial aid higher education, including awarding aid and financial aid regulations.
    • Proficiency with computer software and high comfort level working with Windows software applications.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    Working Relationships:The Financial Aid Coordinator reports to the Director of Financial Aid.

     

     

     

    Faculty Positions

    Assistant/Associate Professor Music

    Position Description

    Warner University offers students from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to develop in a Christian environment to their highest intellectual, spiritual, and professional potential. The music faculty seeks to prepare students to become leaders in Music Education, Music Performance, and Music Ministry.

    The prospective candidate’s primary duties will be to direct bands, teach courses and lessons, coordinate band staff, recruit undergraduate students to the music and band programs, and provide oversight of the band budget. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the band programs and oversee the Concert Band, the Pep Band(s), the Jazz Band, and the Wind Ensemble. He or she will demonstrate performance ability/proficiency with band instruments and band techniques, including conducting, precision drills design, teaching, and/or arranging. Other responsibilities will include teaching the instrument of the candidate’s area of performance expertise as well as teaching related coursework and general music classes as assigned by the department chair. The ideal candidate will also grow an existing Marching Band. The position reports directly to the Chair of the Fine Arts Department.

    Teaching experience in the contexts of evangelical and liberal arts traditions is preferred, and candidates who have some degree of theological education or experience in an evangelical context will be given priority.

    Responsibilities Include

    ·         Direct the Marching Band, Jazz Band, and the Wind Ensemble, along with a subset of other bands in the program (i.e. Pep Band, and/or Concert Band.)

    ·         Teach instrumental students, general education music classes for non-majors, instrumental studio classes, and academic courses in one’s area of specialization

    ·         Manage a budget and the administration of student scholarships.

    ·         Collaborate with other department and university staff to actively recruit and retain music students to the WU program.

    ·         Support the mission of Warner University: “Warner University is committed to guiding individuals toward Christ-like character and intellectual maturity while equipping them to serve.”

    ·         Collaborate with the department chair to assist with development of the music course schedule, new curricula, and performance calendar.

    ·         Maintain a collaborative relationship with Polk County’s public school instrumental teachers.

    ·         Maintain an active and visible performance and outreach schedule. 

    ·         Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Desired Experience and Qualifications

    ·         A Master’s degree in music is required. A doctorate in music is preferred.

    ·         Wind band, jazz band, and orchestral conducting/teaching experience is required.

    ·         Public school teaching experience is highly desired.

    ·         College-level teaching experience is highly desired.

    ·         Athletic/pep/marching band conducting experience is desired.

    ·         Strong, demonstrable instrumental performance skills on a major band or orchestral instrument is also required.
